The GPL conducts experimental and computational research on the optical, magnetic and electronic properties of the cutting edge technology materials.
On the other hand some of these materials are made in our laboratory using simple techniques like the Chokralski method in growing single crystals and the flame technique to make nanotubes and fullerenes.
Futhermore, we have an active team in numerical modelisation and simulation using the latest software packages in condensed matter ( FP-LAPW, Abinit, TB-MD, LMTO, ...). Recently, we started investigating thermal properties of materials using MD techniques.
Our laboratory collaborates with the national laboratories LESIMS, LPR and LMSS Annaba and LMSSM Sidi Bel Abbes.
